"Maia is one of the most literary compelling characters I've ever encountered. The summaries of this book really don't do it justice; it's a much richer and satisfying read than the summaries would suggest. If you like reading novels with British characters, you should definitely read Journey to the River Sea."

"I wanted a book that had a river in the title of it, so I went looking around for one. Off a suggestion, I tried the White Nile, which I suppose is sort of a classic. While it's a bit aged, I definitely enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend it to others who might be interested."
