"This book combines that sort of historical fantasy with a hard fantasy with a romance. I'd say it's a fun read but not mind-blowing."

"This book is one of those novels that either you fall in love with it or you get bored of it immediately, I fell onto the latter category. The book is probably aimed towards young girls or teenagers because the female lead is rather oblivious to things around her even though she has supernatural powers. I honestly could not get into the storyline even after reading a few chapters. I'm not going to say the book is bad, but rather its intended audience is the younger crowd."

"This is really a genre book for readers who are into vampires. It builds up a vampire backstory, and then the plot plays out. I'm not really into that genre per se, but I do sometimes read fantasies involving the supernatural, in either modern day or historical settings. I think some others are more creative when it comes to how the supernatural fits into the world that we seem to know. This one has the whole vampire thing going, and the supernatural angle is part of that. Still, I thought it was a reasonable read, especially as someone who reads novel after novel. So I'd recommend it for vampire fans, and say it is optional for others."

"I love having the full matching box set to add to my library. A part of me wishes I would have stopped by half price books to pick up the novels but it was great having it delivered and matching for 30 some odd dollars. One star off because the back page (the red side) chips away easily. I have only held them and bookmarked them and the back looks worn. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase."

"This is a very popular young adult book. I thought it was okay, but the YA genre doesn't appeal to me all too much. I would recommend this if you like mythology and YA books in general. Otherwise, there's better books out there. "
