"This book is definitely a page turner, in spite of some of the author's narrative faults. I felt that the main character could have been developed a bit more fully and that some of the supporting characters fell a bit flat, but the story itself was quite involving. I have to admit, I couldn't put this book down! It was by no means a great literary masterpiece, but it was an engaging and intriguing story nonetheless that it worth a read if you are a fan of books like the Hunger Games or dystopian novels in general."

"This is a very good book that gained a lot of popularity with the movie adaptation and went over well with critics. Its great homage to old fairy tales with a good twist of its own, taking inspiration from stories such as Cinderella etc. I personally enjoyed the book so I find this comment very useful and descriptive."

"Topic is good but it's an odd topic title. The story is of a young boy in the future with the fate of the world resting on his shoulders, He is put through training so intense that he was able to think and react as a commander of military forces in time of war. The story was good, and there were interesting observations on war and peace, on brutality and kindness, on bullying and friendship"
