"I found this book while looking for a book to satisfy a topic on a college reading list. I needed to find a book written in 1952. At first I was really upset and thought I would end up reading something really boring. That was until I realized that Charlotte's Web was written in 1952 by E.B. White. I never read this book as a child and boy am I glad I read it now! This book transformed me back into a young child with the dramatic imagery in the writing. I found myself engrossed in the characters and plot. How could you not love little Wilbur or Charlotte and lets not forget Templeton! If you have children PLEASE read this to them. They will be so in love with these characters! Perfect bedtime story, whether youre an adult or a child. "

"This is such a beautiful and heartwarming Christmas story, it is a must-read for anyone that can't wait for the winter holidays. The poetry is beautiful and the imagery is so rich, you can imagine yourself sitting by a fire and listening to Dylan Thomas recite this poem over some spiced cider."

"The plot of this book just isn't my type of thing. Maybe if it was made into an action movie starring Tom Cruise I might check it out, but the book seems pretty tame."

"The Natural follows a baseball player who was born with a natural talent for the game, and documents his struggles and many tragedies as he makes his way to the top. The book does not follow the typical 'man overcomes problem and everyone loves him' formula, but instead thrusts you into a world full of chaos, despair, and devoid of mercy. Ultimately it forces you to think, and I find that's always a good quality of books such as these. I couldn't recommend it more!"

"How long he fought with them in the darkness he could not tell, but at last the beating of the wings about him lessened and then withdrew . . . ' A classic of alienation and horror, 'The Birds' was immortalised by Hitchcock in his celebrated film. The five other chilling stories in this collection echo a sense of dislocation and mock man's sense of dominance over the natural world. The mountain paradise of 'Monte Verita' promises immortality, but at a terrible price; a neglected wife haunts her husband in the form of an apple tree; a professional photographer steps out from behind the camera and into his subject's life; a date with a cinema usherette leads to a walk in the cemetery; and a jealous father finds a remedy when three's a crowd . . ."

"I think this is a good book that delves into America's past with racism. We so easily forget about issues such as racism and carry it out today. I like that the man makes something of himself despite the hardships he faced."
