"One of the best Terry Pratchett books! The interaction between Death (who, in typical Pratchett fashion, is stoically hilarious) and his apprentice Mort is excellent, as are Mort's oblivious parents. I love Mort."

"I enjoyed reading this book. I didn't know much about people in Ireland, and the book helped portray what life was like for young people who are unemployed. It kept me entertained, and I usually get very bored with books. Therefore, I suggest you add to your reading list."

    #3And the Band Played On

    And the Band Played On
As the greatest health crisis of the 20th century, the AIDS spread at the United States was something the US health care system wasn't prepared for. This book, one of the bests on this topic, is a deep investigation on how it spreaded so fast among the US.

"Excellent! A well-written, gripping look at the early years of the AIDS crisis, long and worth every page. I understand the presentation of "patient zero" as the source of the epidemic is most likely unfair, according to a number of credible sources; that is unfortunate, and a flaw in the book for certain"

"I don't normally read really old books, but Stephen King is an exception. This is one of his lesser known works but it still features some of his most excellent writing. It's as pure of a fantasy book as you can get, which I found interesting. "

"This is a best seller and Saga 1 book. Looks like a very interesting wilderness book for any reader/early tween/teen. It does have quite a few pages, but looks as though it keeps the reader interested thru out. Love that it offers up so many versions to read/purchase."

"It is to Stephen King's credit that a novel about people walking can be so engaging. What's remarkable about the book is how a wide variety of voices intermingle, each one sounding authentic. How does King get into so many minds so well? Comic touches help the tension go down a little easier, but the suspense is still pretty intense. "

"For my 30th birthday last year my mother got me this book that was written of the year I was born. I've always been a fan of Stephen King. I had seen the movie prior which was amazing but I had not read the book misery yet. I'm very glad I decided to read the book as it's another King Classic. Such a dark thrilling tale that King weaves so beautifully with words. "

    #10The Bonfire of the Vanities

    The Bonfire of the Vanities

Sherman McCoy is a young banker with a huge apartment in Manhattan when he is involved in a strange accident in the Bronx. Now everyone is behind him. This is the most important novel by Tom Wolfe and also a panoramic story about the 1980's New York City.

"This is my first Tom Wolfe book. Wolfe reminds me of Edith Wharton and her cutting displays of New York society. He does a wonderful job with his cynical parody of New Yorkers of different stripes. Sometimes it can be a bit too much though (Sherman McCoy's vanity) but he keeps it in check for the most part. As interesting as the characters were, the ending seems a bit unbelievable. I would have thought that Roland and Maria's credibility would have been so destroyed that a retrial would be impossible. Not to mention the evidence that Maria is culpable and the car shows no damage. Overall a great read and I will definitely be checking out his other books. One person found this helpful"
