"In this book, The Water Horse, Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill writes about the myths and gods of classical times in a language that is nearly non-existent in modern society. This book of lyrical poems reads as a contemporary collection thanks to the fantastic translation by Mebh McGuckian and Eilean Ni Chuilleanain. "

"This is a collection of poems from "Feis". Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill grew up speaking Irish, and Paul Muldoon's translations are skillfully done, retaining the charm of the original. Muldoon is himself a poet, and has treated the original material with wit and sensitivity."

"I love how diaries and correspondence add rich layers to our understanding of history. I feel like they are far more interesting when they are about everyday life and not from monarchy or politicians. This is very interesting."

"I wanted to like this book but I really didn't. This is more of a poetry book than an actual book book, and so maybe that's why I didn't like it that much. Some of the phrases were really hard to understand and I felt that they made no sense, again, this is probably because it's a poetry book and they weren't supposed to, but it still frustrated me."
