#4The Years of Rice and Salt

The Years of Rice and Salt
In the 14th Century, one of the worst events in human history is happening. The Black Death killed the 99% of the European population. How would be the world? In this book China discovers America, the Industrial Revolution starts in India and Buddhism is the most influential religion.

"This is one of the more interesting "alternative history" stories that I've read. What would happen of the black death killed almost everyone in Europe? We'd see a very different world. Kim Stanley Robinson is a pretty good writer, and even if I found the premise far fetched, the outcomes seem logical. I'd say it's a decent book."

"Cloud Atlas is a very popular mind blowing novel with many different story lines to keep the reader wanting more. It's packed with action. Critics review is as "“Wildly entertaining . . . a head rush, both action-packed and chillingly ruminative." I think is master's the solution as a fictional story but it doesn't necessarily make good for Buddhist novel. In fact, I couldn't find a single thing in the description that connected it to Buddhism. "
