"The processor itself is very powerful and in a combination of a modern, high end video adapter it should be able to handle even the most demanding games on ultra settings. The thing is, at almost $400 it is not exactly a budget option and the most people would consider it very expensive. Therefore, I don't believe it to be the best solution... "

"A good CPU for gaming, provided you also have a good video card. A good choice if you want to build a computer on a budget, though you could save a bit of money by using the AMD Ryzen 5 with only a negligible loss of performance. The cooling system is quite good, unlike some other processors it's not likely to overheat."

"I bought a new cpu for my desktop computer, and I couldn't be more happy about my choice, because the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Processor revealed itself to be very, very powerful but not costly as the Intel ones. I overclocked it a little bit without any temperature problem, but I suggest you to buy a good heatsink system to not risk to cook the cpu."

"The new Intel i3-8350k is a new processor from Intel that is available from Amazon.com for 169.00. It is an unlocked processor so you can overclock it if you choose. It is more powerful and more energy efficient than the 7th gen processors. If you were looking to build a light gaming rig this might be a good place to start. Just keep in mind it does require a different socket than the 6th and 7th gen took. I would say this somewhat fits the topic."
