"I wouldn't call this a budget laptop, and though it may be good for everyday activities, the touch screen isn't useful for coding. Battery life is better than average, but the processor could be improved. "

"This is a pretty good laptop for coding. One thing I was happy with was the lack of border so you get the full screen real estate which is important if you need to have multiple editors open at a time and switch between projects, you realize how valuable that screen real estate is. There have been some issues with the battery swelling and I had to replace mine, so I am docking a star for that. But overall the performance of this laptop is great and I have never had any problems running any of my apps that I'm working on. So I would recommend this, but be cautious of the battery issue. Aside from that you should be good to go."

"What I like about the the ThinkPad T470 is that it is lightweight and boots fast. Though it seems odd, i like the fact that it comes with Windows 7 installed and not Windows 10, which I have had nothing but issues with. My only knock is that the screen is not bright enough"

"The design of this laptop is nothing to write home about, but the battery life is great and it has GeForce graphics. It's overkill for programming as far as specs are concerned, but the battery life and large display are desirable for long coding sessions."

"For a budget price, this Acer is amazing. Clear bright picture and really good sound. Also it doesn't seem to "burn out" the way some computers with higher end burn fast processers can do, when gaming. Nice little machine for average user. "
