WHAT'S THE MEANING?

The ketogenic diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet which offers many health benefits. It aims to lower blood sugar and insulin levels. It also shifts the body’s metabolism away from carbs and towards fat and ketones.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that the ketogenic diet tries to get rid of carbohydrates in your body? Even though this is the case, the alternative effects of such nutrient in our body should not be taken out of consideration. Dieting should still be thought of properly because carbohydrates play an important role in the human body. Having very low amounts of it depletes the body of glucose (the primary energy source for your brain and muscles). Carbohydrates also provide fuel for the central nervous system. It also gives energy to working muscles. Studies have also linked carbs to decision-making. Such studies show that people who ate a high-carb breakfast were less willing to share with other people. The importance of having a carb tracker for everyone is emphasized in these studies.

The ketogenic diet has been widely used. It is said to have produced positive results. According to Healthline, over 20 studies show that such a diet helps for weight loss as well as a cure against diabetes and other diseases. It is tempting for weight loss and health buffs to try such a trend. To help you track your carbs intake more, there are carb counting apps that can help you to track your health better.

"If you're one of those folks that is constantly measuring yourself against others and against standards, this probably works for you. Just another example of just how dependent and "owned" we are by our smartphones. Sadly, it's only available on Apple products, but if you have one, it's probably one of the better ones for what it does. Having lots of restaurant data is good for folks that travel on business a lot."
