Best card games to play with three people

I loved this game. My friends and I played it at a potluck dinner party a couple of months ago and had a blast. It would be fun with more people but you can definitely play with three. I'm not even that interested in games, but this one was well worth the price for an evening of hangout time with my friends. More

From the Amazon description the game is playable for three players and the game is based around cards. From a functionality perspective, this game would work, everything else aside. This is a good solution to the problem. More

I tried to play Skat with two of my buddies last Saturday, and it was easily the most confusing game I've ever tried to learn. For one, my friends and I kept arguing over who was forehand and who was middlehand! This game would only be fun if you had a math whiz for a friend; I want to crack open a cold one with the boys, not practice addition! Take it from me, and just play Uno with your friends instead of this game. More

Back Euchre is a blast to play with two other people! It is so hard to find card games for three people that are fun and engaging, but Buck Euchre fits the bill. The game takes a little bit to understand the rules, and it could take a lifetime to learn all of the skill needed; however, this game is our go to game whenever we have three people available to hang-out and play a game. Spades is not a good solution to a card game for three people. It is usually played with four people and I don't see how it would work with three people since it would not be as fun or even work right. More

I'm going to need a few more weeks of practicing with this, I think, but it's definitely fun. I found it by searching for card games for three, and that's what it's designed for, but there are variants for two to five people. If you've played Spades, which I have, a lot of the rules will be familiar. I'm guessing some of the others will be familiar if you've played Whist, which I haven't - the game history mentioned it. More
