DID YOU KNOW?

At some point in our lives, most of us have probably played a video game at least once. Now, with online games, it's natural for the story to be very interactive where the players have the ability to choose how everything would go. Most of the time, it lays out different paths and options for you to take. However, this feature is very rare on TV. In fact, there's only a minimal number of tv shows or movies that have done it. But if you're not yet aware, did you know that Netflix stepped up their game by releasing an interactive movie?

In 2008, Netflix introduced Black Mirror: Bandersnatch to adult audiences, which was a full-length movie. The whole film ran for an hour and thirty minutes and took about seven weeks to finish. This resulted in five endings and about a dozen other new scenes each time you mix and match different options! At first, the creators weren't sure about creating the hit movie but when they sat down and discussed how the story would go, they were convinced it was a great idea and that Black Mirror is the perfect avenue to execute a mind-blowing masterpiece. It then sparked a rumor that Netflix was planning to dive into the video game world with this new feature, but the creators said they don't see the movie as an interactive game, but rather a new advancement to the way creatives can tell their stories. Plus this isn't the first time Netflix has done this, as they've already created an interactive game before for kids entitled Puss in Books where kids get the chance to choose narratives! But who knows? Maybe in the near future, our favorite streaming site might just surprise us with a new venture!
