" Heidi is one of the Heidi. Some of the vocabulary will fly over the heads of kids today, but it will increase it, too. The message of God's love comes through loud and clear; the book was written at a time when such things were commonplace in books."

"I did not feel that this was a classic christian book. I felt more it was a historical type book for kids. It tells the story of a young apprentice in 1775 Boston who becomes a spy in the American Revolution. This is a great children's book full of life lessons. It is well written and interesting."

"I first red "Where the Red Fern Grows" when I was in elementary school. I remember it vividly because I could not have a dog where we lived at the time and it made me want a dog more than anything. Old Dan and Little Ann were the most loyal companions to little Billy, and I knew if I had a dog it would be just as loyal. I am now reading this book to my son. The morals and wholesome nature give us a lot to talk about and it makes for a great bedtime read!"

"I don't know why this book is under the category of "Christian", when there is zero mention of its being "Christian" in any of the descriptions or reviews. If anything, there are several comparisons of this book to "Little House on the Prairie". I'm pretty sure the whole world liked that book and not just Christians, although I suppose a Christian would enjoy it just as much as anybody else."

"The Crippled Lamb is a lovely Christian story that is great to read to 5 or 6 year olds. This book is way below the 5th grade reading level. But I believe 5th graders could still benefit from the story. So this is not one of the best classic Christian books for 5th graders."
