""The Call of the Wild" is a spectacular novel in its own right. It is not an overtly Christian book, but there are certainly some underlying themes a teacher could point out if they were so inclined. It is a good book to read without attachment, but attaching religion to the themes of the book work wonderfully as well. It may not be religious enough for some, but you can definitely find some relevance if you so choose. "

"As a woman, even as this book is focused on the adventures of boys, I found myself highly engrossed. The story and its characters remind me of a time when the mid-west had more open land, less restrictions, and youthful adventure was easily found."

"This is a great book, a classic, and a must-read to introduce anyone to the socialist movement. Anything by George Orwell is important, eye-opening and thought-provoking, but Animal Farm is also important to read in this day and age with factory farming and all of the issues in our food supply system coming to light. Again I will shout from the roof tops that this is a must-read."

"This series follows in the vein of the Chronicles of Narnia series with magic, fantasy characters and quest. I was surprised that the hero-to-be was in charge of an oracular pig. Not exactly the most dynamic or interesting animal to be given magical skills. However, the pig and all the other characters come together to help Taran fulfill his destiny of becoming a hero. A delightful book for readers of all ages."
