DID YOU KNOW?
The first single-lens camera that got movies started got its patent in 1888? This was by a French inventor named Louis Le Prince. The first moving picture show was a homemade movie done by Max and Emil Skladanowsky. They were the first to make movies for paying audiences throughout Europe. Silent movies ruled the early years of cinema. The most significant early movie is generally regarded German masterpiece “Metropolis.” It released back in 1927 and took several years and the use of special effects on the film. The ability to put sound on the actual movie film got its patent by American Lee De Forest in 1919. Along with the help of inventor Theodore Case, De Forest and debuted and first heard in 1927. The rest, as they say, is history.
Today, movies come in all sorts of formats and resolutions. As well as paired with amazing sound effects and designs. Some of the best movies have also diversified since then and cover many topics and themes. With the ubiquitous nature of the Internet today, streaming services have also appeared. Internet speeds have improved a lot over the past decade. They leverage this fact to offer streaming services for movies and TV shows. There are many quality streaming sites available right now. The most popular ones though would have to be the likes of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. Amazon, in particular, has seen much-improved service and content. From action to romance, and the best comedies on Amazon Prime to now, even anime. The service's catalog has grown quite a bit. It can't quite keep up with the best Netflix shows but it's getting there.
