What are the best CW TV shows?
The CW Television Network (The CW) is an American free-to-air TV network operated by The CW Network, LLC. It is a limited liability joint venture between the CBS Entertainment Group and Warner Bros. The name of the network is derived from the first letters of its two parent companies, CBS and Warner Bros. The CW debuted back in September of 2006. Initially, the network's program line-up consisted of shows that were intended to appeal to women. By 2011 though, the network started to increase in programming to appeal more to men. In fact, as of 2017, the network's audience was comprised of men and women, split down the middle, 50%/50%.
The network saw some success during the first few years of its operation thanks to the help of shows that were carried over from The WB. Some notable ones were Smallville and Supernatural, which is still on-going to this day. The network offered quality programming to its female audience with shows Gossip Girls and The Vampire Diaries. When Smallville ended its run in 2011, it left a space that The CW had to fill in quick. In came the show, Arrow, a superhero series based on DC Comics' Green Arrow. The show has pretty much been the reason why we are enjoying a great influx of superhero TV shows today. All of this combined makes for a great win for The CW. It has a broad spectrum of audiences covered with its solid line-up of CW shows which you can also find on sites to download series.
