"This may sound weird, but I really like depressing stories. Life isn't happy, and I like to see people struggle through hardship and difficulty and understand that people don't always overcome this. This story is told in a very simple way, with very little text and linework, and I think that adds to the emotion. However, the localization isn't very good, as they mirrored the book for Western audiences, which rearranged the panels awkwardly."

"I am really interested in in mangas that I can relate too, such as ones that are depressing or sad. Attack on the Titan is definitely interesting and makes you think about what life would be like post apocalypse. Even in the science fiction setting, the characters struggle with realistic problems and explore different characteristics and emotions."

I was sad throughout all of my years and this has really, really made me see that it isnt all bad. I feel like I can really get over that period of my life with this colorful book. I am still reading it and do not plan on stopping any time soon."

"Ceres follows Aki Miyage shortly after watching her twin brother die. She's turning 16 and trying to figure out the world, and herself. It turns out she has supernatural powers, including being able to contact her dead brother. This series if funny, but also poignant as it deals with topics such as love and loss."

"This is pretty heart wrenching for a manga. I actually felt for Shinoshara a lot. It made me sad to feel for her as I did. I haven't been so invested in a character since I read about Hiro in 9th Wonder."
