"I'm not really a fan of dystopian and cyberpunk movies but I like action movies. And when this movie was released, Stallone was one of the best action-stars in the industry. So naturally, I went ahead and watched the film. However, what caught my attention wasn't the action scenes. It was how the movie was made. Great storyline, great acting, and the movie was funny in a subtle manner. The cast really performed well that while there are a lot of plot-holes, the movie overall was still very entertaining."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger dominated this list and rightly so. I think he's the only one who could have played those roles and in turn, these movies made him a Hollywood icon. For Total Recall, however, the movie was set in a dystopian future and it is a great solution for this list. It's a cross between the Matrix and Blade Runner. LOL!!! Funny right? But don't @me. Watch the film then compare it with the remake and you would believe what I said."

"He said he'll be back and he was back. This film has so many iconic catch-phrases that people today didn't know it originated from this Terminator 2: Judgement Day. While the films that followed this movie almost destroyed the franchise, I believe there are talks that Cameron himself will try to revive the franchise. Let Cameron take the helm and work his magic again. This franchise is too good to be wasted."

"If you think of dystopian and cyberpunk movies, Blade Runner would always come up. I know it is an old film like some movies on this list. But then again, you can't deny that these movies were the precursors of the dystopian or cyberpunk films we are seeing today. I'd daresay that most of these current movies wouldn't have the successes that they have had movies like Blade Runner weren't made."

"The Matrix is one of those films that revolutionized how films are made. It not only has a concept that's so unique that not everyone could understand it, it also featured great action scenes and CGI effects that are way ahead of its time. This is one film that is so believable you'd think you are really living in the Matrix and that explains a lot of things that you really don't understand."

"I love Ghost in the Shell. I hated the live-action remake. This animated version stayed true to the source and there isn't something that I would want to change. I believe this is one of the most important films in animation history as most of the techniques used in making this movie are still being used today. As such, this version should have been recognized more."

"Another cybernetic organism designed to protect humanity. This movie led me to the door of sci-fi and I haven't gone out of this door yet. I have watched a lot of cyberpunk and dystopic movies over the years and while some of them are really, really good, Robocop would still remain as my favorite film ever."

"This is the mother of all dystopian-cyberpunk movies. I rated it 5 stars for its time-travel concept, the great effects, for old Arnie's machine-like acting, and for Linda Hamilton's bad-ass-ness. Truly a great movie."
