"A few weeks ago I found myself in need of a new E-reader. After having used a Kindle Paperwhite for years I decided to upgrade to the Kindle DX. I ended up regretting this decision for multiple reasons. The main one being that I had been so accustomed to the smaller profile of the Paperwhite. The Kindle DxX was much too bulky and heavy for my needs."

"I think $318.99 is a tremendous amount of money for an ebook reader. The pen option is nice, but there is no way I would pay that much for something with a limited and “very fragile” screen that can break with “little external force”. I am also not familiar with the ONYX BOOM brand or the banggood.com site. In my younger, more naive days I would have taken a chance on an off brand item if the price is right, but I was always burned. I have become older and wiser (I hope anyway). There is little to no chance that I would consider purchasing this item."

"I was slightly disappointed with the Onyx Book. It offered a lot of features that rival other e-book readers, but it was slow and seemed outdated. I'm fairly sure there are better e-book readers available on the market and I plan to get one if the Book doesn't release an update soon."

"I like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 given that it has a 9.7 inch screen which is perfect for reading PDF documents and textbooks. I also like that this tablet has both a front and rear camera and 32GB of memory with a microSD slot that can upgrade the memory to 256 GB if needed. This is important as many of my textbooks require a lot of memory due to the graphics."

"Yes, the iPad pro is a little pricey at $800, but it was completely worth it as an upgrade at the office. As a teacher at a university, I work with hundreds of PDFs, and tens of different textbooks that need to be stored and read efficiently. This iPad is lightning fast at downloading and pulling up the texts I need to be able to teach my class efficiently. I highly recommend it. "

"I've been looking for a new computer for reading. I wanted to buy a new e-reader, but something fancier. I should have gone with my gut and gotten a dedicated e-reader, but instead got a Microsoft Surface Pro 4. It's rather heavy and has to be updated all the time since it's Windows. I wanted something more light and easy to use. I wouldn't recommend this at all for just reading PDFs and textbooks. It is not good for reading."

"I am currently a university student and I have been searching for an E-reader for PDFs and my textbooks and I have been unsatisfied with the typical brands that are out on the market. Although Onyx Boox Max is pricier than standard E-readers, it suits my needs perfectly, especially for technical books. "

As well, as a teacher, I can even view my students documents and mark them up on this device. "Finally, a Kindle I can take in the bathtub! What a country! The specs for this thing is pretty impressive, but it's got a price to match. But apparently it's aimed at people with boats, so I guess if you can afford a boat, you've got this baby covered. Surprised the pics were missing wine glasses though."

"I love the fire 7 with Alexa for so many reasons, but I am not a fan of using it as an e-reader but that is a personal choice because I would rather have an actual book. I love Alexa I have to admit I will spend time talking to her just to see what I can get her to say but it is so handy to have her right on the tablet because I usually have it with me."
