  1. 2Kylo Ren goes to Mustafar

    13

Having trouble placing the lava planet in the first-ever scene of Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? It looked familiar to you, right? No worries, some fans also had a moment of uncertainty about the place where Kylo Ren was seen combatting creepy people. It was the birthplace of Darth Vader! That's right! It was the same planet where Obi-Wan and Anakin brawled in Revenge of the Sith.

  2. 3Yet, another Dejarik win for Chewie!

    8

An early scene where Finn, Poe, and Chewie are seen playing Dejarik, or basically space chess, is very nostalgic! And again, there were aboard the Millenium Falcon. The scene first appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977). As usual, the Wookiee wins again!

  1. 4The Emperor's Throne room

    4

Thanks to The Rise of Skywalker for letting us glance at Emperor Palpatine's throne. Did you know that designers drew inspiration from the early sketches by Ralph McQuarrie? We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge McQuarrie's great contributions to the original Star Wars trilogy!

  2. 5Princess Leia's flashback

    3

Finally! A long-overdue acknowledgment that Princess Leia is indeed a Jedi. As the only surviving members of the Skywalker family, Luke had been training Leia in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Thanks to that scene where Luke is explaining to Rey that Leia was actually trained. Carrie Fisher would have been proud!

  3. 6"I have a bad feeling about this." returns!

    2

In terms of famous lines, Star Wars is notorious for having lines repeated throughout the whole film franchise. And The Rise of Skywalker is brimming with these lines! This time we see Lando Calrissian utter the famous line "I have a bad feeling about this." Have you also heard him say 'old buddy'?

  4. 7Rey's training obstacle

    2

If Rey's training in the Ajan Kloss forest seems familiar to you, it's because it was reminiscent of Luke's training in A New Hope. They both used the same training tools--a helmet with a blast shield, a remote that helps her hone her lightsaber skills. It was Obi-Wan was training Luke aboard the Falcon. Remember?

  5. 8Palpatine's granddaughter

    1

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we have learned that Rey was the daughter of just 'nobody'. Thanks to Kylo Ren for the information but when Episode IX (The Rise of Skywalker) happened, fans were shookt to discover that technically, Rey is the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine. Rey's parents decided to disassociate themselves from Palpatine to protect their daughter.

DID YOU KNOW?

Upon the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, Star Wars fans, including those ardent followers of the late actress Carrie Fisher, couldn't hide their emotions upon seeing the old footage of Carrie Fisher from the previous installments of Star Wars franchise. While the fans really had a hard time watching Fisher in TROS, the death of the actor before the filming of The Rise of Skywalker made it even harder for JJ Abrams and the whole production team.

Did you know that Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd played the young Leia in a scene in the TROS? With the help of VFX supervisor Roger Guyett, together with his team, they painstakingly created an image out of Fisher's outtakes from the original Star Wars trilogy and crafted the Young Carrie Fisher that we all witnessed. Of course, Billie's help was needed for the image to materialize. Basically, the took some scenes from The Force Awakens and The Lase Jedi and built a digital face of Fisher. JJ Abraham has always kept his principle of making Carrie Fisher play the iconic character of Princess Leia no matter what. Finally, the long-overdue acknowledgment of Princess Leia as a trained Jedi was solidified in the film. So, if you are still wondering why Princess Leia did not fully become a Jedi Master in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the answer is among this list of best Easter eggs in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker!
