"I think Atavist is one of the best, if not THE BEST, eBook creators for aspiring writers. Sure, other publishing software are free, but this one is jam-packed with features. In fact, it has WAY too many tools that it's positively overwhelming to navigate for beginners. At least it offers tutorials to guide neophyte authors. It has countless templates to design digital eBooks, magazines, photo books and practically any digital media you can think of. So yeah, I prefer Atavist over the more popular creators like Calibre and iBooks Author. "

"The first thing that I've got to mention is iBooks Author is absolutely free, unlike other e-book creators, and it's quite fantastic at that. I've published numerous children's books in it and it's a complete thrill to get to see the final manuscript in such beautifully produced fashion. I would gladly pay if ever Apple decides to charge for this app. Hands down the best ePUB creator out there! "

"I like how it can convert my publications from one format into another, although sometimes when converting the original format changes which can be very frustrating. Still, it contains a lot of features which I really appreciate - plus it's free so I shouldn't really complain. "

"Hmmm, I don't know. I find the previous version very intuitive, like when I convert ePUB to PDF, the format and style of everything translate beautifully that I don't need to do any additional edits. Now the software does nothing but crash. The new code just isn't in tip-top shape. I wish they'd just downgrade it to the older code. I suggest everyone use the 3.4 version. It's still available for download. I hope anyone who reads this would find it helpful. "

"With Pressbooks, I strongly believe you don't need to employ a professional book designer to come up with a decent, non-amateurish looking book. I've published a couple of stories on the platform, a novella and a full-length novel, for a lot less money compared to the thousand dollars that I spent for my first book to get published. Never again. Besides, even if this is a paid software, the result is just stellar to look at you wouldn't have any complaints. Trust me. "

"Lucidpress is a pretty good e-book creator. All of the materials that I've published in it have looked polished and the interface is relatively easy to navigate. The downside is since it's a browser tool and not a downloadable software, so you always need to have an Internet connection to access your account, otherwise, you can't really do anything while offline."

"This is probably the most well-rounded of all eBook and PDF creators. It has all the necessary basic features that you need, plus more to enhance the aesthetic of your publications. Granted, creating an ebook from scratch can be a daunting task, but the step-by-step guide found on the website is very comprehensive. If you're still having difficulties understanding it, their support is quite helpful. I emailed a query a few months ago and I immediately got a response in less than 24 hours. "

"I find this one stronger compared to other ePub creators for a number of reasons. One, it's free; it's a Microsoft Word extension, so it doesn't necessarily take up too much in your computer drive. Second, it's quite simple to follow; I find other eBook creators too complicated to maneuver. ePUBee Maker just appears as an additional toolbar on Word. Lastly, you can practically use almost all the basic functions found in paid publishing platforms in this really simple tool. 👍 "
