"I had a lot of fun with this, as far as graphic novels go this would be one of my top 5 for sure. The characters are really well put together and the story is so creative and unique to the characters that it will keep you entertained and wanting to keep reading. It seems to flow effortlessly and made me wish it was longer by the time I reached the end of it."

"This book gives voice to those commonly referred to as "Trailer Trash," while illustrating the universal challenges of isolated citizens in the United States who are living in poverty or are the working poor, and the transgeneraltional impact of those challenges. One also learns the history of this cohort, how it has evolved, how - along with a large majority of people in our society - are manipulated by our elected officials, and how the "Trailer Trash" culture permeates our society."

""Bone" turned out to be the best educational comics and graphic novel I've read of late. The Bone squad doesn't fail to entertain while always providing some substance. I prefer that my kid dives into this as opposed to all the other crap out there."

    #6My Father Bleeds History (Maus)

    My Father Bleeds History (Maus)

Possibly the most original way to understand and explain the holocaust and the Nazis prosecution against the Jews. A brutal graphic novel over a real story where the jews are wide-eyed mice and the Nazis are menacing cats.

"Smile is one of my favorite graphic novels. I recommended this novel to my daughter because she is going through a tough time. The experiences of Raina as she comes of age are perfect for parents to share with their children. My daughter connected with the story immediately and I could tell that the words and images within helped her to cope with what she was experiencing."

"It's a great memoir and graphic novel focusing on LGBT themes. It's not a general education book, but if you're looking to learn more about the LGBT community, it's a great place to start. There are a lot of quirky other issues in it including the family funeral home, gothic twists and plenty of sexual angst. It gives a good glimpse at educating people in the world of the LGBT community."
