"This seems to be a very well-reviewed book and would appear to be a high quality read for this genre. I would be hard pressed to say that this is the BEST in the genre but I don't think that the average person would be disappointed either. "

"I'm always leery but willing to give any fantasy romance books a shot, and this one turned out to be a page turner. Similar to the world of the Hunger Games series, but with different and exciting themes. I just love female assassins, and Celaena is up there with the best. "

"This is a good book filled with twists and turns in the romance of Feyre and Tamlin. I did not care for the controlling tone set for Tamlin and felt uneasy with this writing. Feyre is trapped and almost seems like an abusive situation that I really did not like. If taken on a purely fiction basis, it is okay, but it just made me angry to read."

"I'm a sucker for romance books and for fantasy books, so when I heard from a friend about Poison Study, I knew I had to pick up a copy. Written by Maria V. Snyder, the book tells the tale of Yelena, who escaped being put to death by becoming the food tester for the Commander of Ixia and to protect them from being poisoned. It's a good thing that this book is the start of a series, because after reading this one, you are going to want more."

"I've read this, and though I like the premise everything else in the book fell short to me. The characters were poorly fleshed out and the attempts at romance in a few ways (like a love triangle!) were all kind of weakly executed."
