Nat is gone. Tony is also gone. Cap went back in time and settled down for good. In other words, half of the original Avengers squad gone. Now, as an MCU fan that you are, you might be wondering what's next for the remaining Avengers. We all know that Marvel has upcoming shows premiering on Disney+, but will there be a fifth Avenger movie? Who knows? There is still a lot of great story arcs to cover, and beings and enemies to defeat. Below, you can see some of the best theories of what might happen IF there'd be a fifth installment. Which one do you think is the most plausible? Vote for it now!
Back in Infinity War, every one of us thought that it is the end for earth's mightiest heroes. Thanos was too much for the Avengers to handle. And in the end, he was able to fulfill his destiny. With just a snap (literally), half of the world's population vanished into a place unknown. And he said that he did it for "salvation." But what if we tell you that the Mad Titan is right? A theory suggests that Thanos did it to save the human race from Galactus, one of Marvel's most powerful characters. Primarily a Fantastic Four villain, Galactus can easily consume the core of a celestial body and destroy it entirely, hence the moniker "devourer of planets." With his ability, he might be another impossible challenge that the remaining Avengers have to face.
With Disney recently acquiring the rights to X-Men, this fan theory isn't far-fetched. Although there aren't any X-Men movies in the works right now (as far as we know), fans still speculate that Avengers 5 might introduce the mutants to the MCU. The flag of Madripoor, a fictional island first seen in an issue of X-Men comics, is visible in a leaked set photo of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. If it is true, there's a chance that the mutant superheroes might appear in future MCU movies i.e. Avengers 5. And with Hugh Jackman unlikely to return as Wolverine, who could be the next actor to possess the adamantium claws?
We, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, know that the franchise have solo films, team films, and then there are the events. And Marvel's attempts in adapting comics events have been quite successful so far. Some of those include Captain America: Civil War and the Infinity Saga. The success is also thanks to the brilliant direction of Anthony and Joe Russo. But there are still many Marvel comics events that aren't adapted into movies yet. One of those is the Secret Wars story arc, where Marvel's superheroes and villains battle it out with one another. The sibling directors also made it clear that they'd love to return to the studio if Marvel decides to adapt the Secret Wars arc. With time-traveling made possible in Avengers: Endgame and the multiverse about to enter in Doctor Strange 2, this event may be plausible.
If you think that the time-traveling concept introduced in Endgame is already confusing, then what more is the idea of the multiverse? With the upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the said idea in the fifth Avengers film isn't impossible. Also, if you happen to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio kinda shared the idea of the multiverse, though it turned out to be a deception. But however this concept pans out, it will surely play a huge part in the establishment of stories in the upcoming films, especially in Avengers 5. If ever Kevin Feige decides to take this route, then we're up for another series of movies that will test our understanding.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki are some of the newest series coming to Disney+ centered around the titular characters. We all know that the said shows have a connection to the Phase Four of the MCU. One probable reason is that the characters are already a part of the cinematic universe. But apart from the three, heroes like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk are each gonna have their respective shows. Are you getting what we're trying to say? There's a possibility that they, too, might appear in the upcoming Avengers movie! They might become the newest additions to the never-ending expansion of the Avengers. What do you think?
