  "This is a truly excellent book. I couldn't put it down. I hope the author keeps the series going. You get to watch as all of the main characters grow into the story. You watch as Li-lin grows from being a widow who lives in her fathers shadow to being a powerful character in her own right. The only minus was how the police treated the Chinese. The police treating the Chinese with respect was not believable for the time period. The Chinese, like the Jews of Europe in this period were shoved into ghettos, in the larger cities, and treated poorly. Nothing was said if any Chinese were gunned down or killed. The stories of several massacres are mentioned in this book. My wife is Chinese, so I've read up on the folklore, and love watching Chinese movies with ghosts, demons, vampires, and fox spirits. To this day modern Chinese believe that these monsters live among them and prey on them."

  "A slice of the fantasy series The Wheel of Time, which is greatly loved by millions. I'm not too much of a fantasy reader, but I must say I as intrigued enough by the mention of West Africa to try the first book of the series. And while I was not enthralled by it, I liked it enough to finish it and get interested in the characters. The style is a little pedestrian and of course, the plot is intricate as hell, in a way that feels a little contrived, but overall, it flows well enough and I decided to pursue the adventure by reading the second book, The Great Hunt. It feels good the find the protagonists of the first book and to meet new ones, and the whole universe is really taking shape in a nice, rounded way. It feels richer and a bit more nuanced than the first one. Overall a good read, even for those who are not hardcore fantasy readers."

  "I would only recommend this book if you have read the first three books in the series. While I'm not sure that this is the best fantasy series available (as I would definitely recommend "The Lord of the Rings" before this), it is some good escapist fantasy and a pleasant way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. This is part of the "Chronicles of the Necromancer" series. I enjoyed the first book and have found the subsequent books, including this one, include many of the same themes and conflicts. I will probably not read any more books in the series going forward as there is a lot of other good fantasy available today."

  "The liar here is Wolf, the freshman of a high school. She does not want to be isolated in the middle of class, she likes to make friends but it is not easy to get along with everyone. Evidence is to lie to the group that you have a boyfriend, only to participate in "eight things" in common. Lying for such a long time, must be very tired. One beautiful day, she took a photo of a handsome guy in the street and showed everyone: "This is my lover but he does not like being photographed, it's hard to get one." The boy in the picture is, the other students in the same class but extremely famous."

  "The epic Dragonlance Chronicles are an engaging series of adventures and misadventures involving recurring primary and peripheral characters on their saga of quests and conflicts. A must read for fans of the fantasy genre and it all begins with this one, the first in the series and the foundation for the saga. setting the stage of the primary characters and their backstories. It has its flaws as it does seem somewhat like an RPG or D&D gamer inspired book and drags in places but this is a classic must read for fans of the genre and well worth the time and effort."

  "I love to read books. In particular, I am a huge fan of fantasy books. When I finished my last book I wanted to start something new so I tried to find the best fantasy series out there. I recently stumbled upon "The Name of the Wind" (the first book in The Kingkiller Chronicle) and gave it a try. I must say that I am disappointed. The theme of the book is exactly what I love, but for some reason I can't connect to the characters or the story. Next time, I will have to find something better."

  "There's nothing like escaping into a romance series and the addition of fantasy elements to The Dragon Who Loved Me makes it a favorite of mine for sure. There are definitely a lot of characters to keep track of, but once you settle in you'll love the rich and diverse world of this series. The women characters are fun and plucky, but unafraid to fall in love. There's definitely some violence, but it is well tempered by a whirling story from start to finish."

  "I have never been more dumbfounded by a book than I was by Shadow's Edge (Night Angel). When I read the summary of the book I was certain it would be a 100-200 page casual thriller geared toward children, and instead I found myself reading a book of more than 600 pages aimed at an unknown audience.
