"This is an interesting concept and while the plot is pretty good, I feel like not enough time is spent fleshing out the characters before just shoving them into their mythological assigned roles. I don't regret reading it, but I wouldn't read it again."

"The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck."

"I'm not really a fan of mythology but a close friend told me this book would change my mind about the genre, but this book did not do much for me personally. The monsters in the book did not seem scary to me as they were intended to be. The main characters were rather bland as well, which made it hard for me to care what happened to them. I could not read the book for long stretches at home due to boredom, so I had to take breaks to either watch television or listen to music before I continued to read. It is definitely not one of the better mythology books I have read."

If you've read one mythology book, save yourself the trouble, you pretty much already read this one too. Wish I could return this stupid book. "

"I absolutely LOVE the Goddess Girl series. As a lifelong fan of both mythology and children's literature, I started the series before I knew I was pregnant with my daughter. After she was born, I started over with book 1 and read them aloud at her bedtime. I just know she will enjoy the set on her own when she gets older. That being said, Medusa the Mean doesn't disappoint. The authors do a wonderful job detailing exactly why Medusa is so mean and why she does and says the things she does. But I must stop with that because I don't want to give any spoilers."
