"This is an interesting fantasy novel with an odd but compelling story. The problem is that it is an odd enough story that you probably won't be able to grasp it if you're too young. It's not out of the realm of possibility, but you'd be safer not introducing this to a child younger than about high school, just because some of the concepts are so out there that they wouldn't have the background necessary to grasp it all."

"This dark book was not what I thought it would be. I was expecting so much more, and the read wasn't that good. Also it was kind of disappointing with a minor build up that I was not happy with."

"The title of the book is misleading, and I was under the impression that it would be regarding religion. I found the book reasonably interesting, but it's not great for a younger audience."

" Hands down, this is a great book. The writing is magnificent. I would not agree with all ages, though. I think that the stories are profound, but a bit more than a younger child could understand. There is nothing offensive - they can read it, but will not get the total benefit unless they are very advanced. With an adult reading along with them, younger children could enjoy the book as well, but on their own, I would say 12 and up."

"Having read the majority of books by Anthony Marra and he always brings something unique. Good story about a young girl who finds healing, hope, and hostile situations that escalate after her father is abducted. I read this in about three days and enjoyed every bit of it. "

"I would suggest this book for children, although adults may find some of the stories amusing as well. It highlights the life of a boy who lives in Calcutta who has an unfortunately large nose and who isn't the most intelligent, but contains a good moral compass. The stories are comical and interesting."
