"Believe it or not I watched the movie before reading the book. The book is just as good as the David Fincher movie. It's a thrilling crime novel with slight differences to the movie - neither for the better or worse, just different. Regardless, it's a compelling story and a must-read for newer books. Check it out!"

"Too many authors of fantasy novels are so focused on the magical elements and unusual customs they write about that the lose sight of the fact that they are writing a novel. World-building is important, of course, but we still need well developed characters and interesting plots. Rothfuss provides these, and beautifully described settings, too. This book is an epic. I mean, it is one long book, but the story keeps moving, so I never lost interest. Rothfuss is one of the best fantasy writers around, and this book is a treat."

"I saw the movie before reading the novels, and this was a lot better. I've read some of King's books before, but this was a bit different. It was way more action-packed, and quite frankly, bad ass! Highly recommend for those that like action and thrillers."

These forty-six Thebans, whose bones will never lie in the mass grave that holds their two hundred and fifty-four brothers, join with the immortalized Tempus and his Sacred Band of Stepsons, consummate ancient cavalry fighters, to make new lives in a faraway land and fight the battle of their dreams where gods walk the earth, ghosts take the field, and the angry Fates demand their due"

"A book that tries to get you engaged on the story but never really accomplishes its goal since the development of the characters is null. There appears to be a pre requisite to read this because as your reading you would have to fill in things you read from other series to understand were the author is coming from. "
