"This novel was written by a black women and tells plenty of stories about lesbian or even bisexual women. It is not entirely about a lesbian so I can't call this a perfect solution but it's close enough to keep the disappointment down to a minimum."

"It was so interesting to see the world through the lives of someone who lives an alternative lifestyle. Definitely eye opening. I feel a little more open minded now, and a lot more understanding. "

"I like what the author was trying to say (I think), but it gets lost in the constant sexploits of the characters. The book reduces all of the main characters to sex playthings, and it really undermines the message of the story."

"This book is from a fairly well established author with a decent following. It fits the topic completely and is one of multiple books someone could read about this topic. If someone was being particular about what they were getting, there are other more deep novels about this topic."

"Fire & Brimstone by Laurinda D. Brown was all over the place. This book seemed to take forever to finish. This was mostly due to the storyline and how it was presented. It seemed that the story was jumping all over the place which made the events in the novel hard to follow. It also seemed like this book was poorly edited as some of the dialogue seemed wrong."

"Skyy is at her best with this installment in the Choices series. Her characters are full of depth, sincerity, and authenticity. I felt connected to them and that is very rare for me. This series was well worth it and I highly recommend it."

"Choices blew me away. I wasn't expecting much from it but as a queer woman, I found both the representation and the storyline thoughtful, moving, and engaging. The tales of the four central woman and their relationships with one another were well balanced. We need more tales with queer women of color like this!"

"I think this is a good book, in that it has a good story/ plot/ characters, but I was left a little disappointed by the writing style. It also seemed to be plagued by grammar issues throughout. I think it's worth a read, since this can be a topic that isn't easy to find a ton to read on, but it isn't the greatest. Kind of torn on it overall to be honest."
