"The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years) is one of the best fiction novels that you can find that deals with the subject of paraplegia. I'm wheel chair bound but not a lot stops me and the character in this book is just the same. Despite it being a work of fiction, this book has inspired me and instilled a sense of hope that I too can find love one day."

"I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up this book. My mother is sick and I'm having to sit with her. I was checking out her stack of books and picked this one up to pass the time. My mother and I don't always agree on what kind of books are best to read, so finding one in her stack that I could actually enjoy is a challenge. This story caught me, mainly because it was more realistic than I expected. I fell in love with the characters. You will too."

"This book does not have a paraplegic as a main character. If someone read this looking for that specific criteria, they would be disappointed."

"The Ugly Duckling is a tale of realization for it's female protagonist. In her search for a fairy tale romance with what she's learned to expect from a "prince" she finds something else. She soon learns that it may not be worth pursuing her prince when she falls in love with someone wheelchair bound or rather her prince wasn't what she expected at first."

"Sometimes a good book can motivate you and bring you out of a struggle in your life. I recently read Romancing the Professor, a romance about a paralyzed girl, and it did just that for me. The love story is great and the characters are deep. The book makes you want to be better, and that is the best kind of book."

"Show Me Your Face is an excellent book for learning about those who are handi-capable. I felt like I was learning a whole new side about those with disabilities. Usually things in the media shows such people as less than human but this book gave many great examples about how those with disabilities are able to overcome adversity and be like everyone else."

"Such a Pretty Girl strikes me as a book professional critics will call "important." It's award bait. Disabled but all too precocious and cute kid, check. Daddy issues, check. Emotional issues coded as being heavy and thoughtful, check. It just...it has all these elements, but I never really feel like it does more than parade them before you and languish in how clever and thoughtful it is. But is it really? This one is solidly hit or miss."
