The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us some of the most amazing action scenes to ever grace the big screen. There are even some moments where things got a little dicey for our heroes but every time we are graced with a fight, it's must-watch. But which ones were the most memorable fight scenes from the MCU?
The universe is in ruins after the devastating events of the Avengers: Infinity War. Captain America is alone against the alien hordes of Thanos. But when portals open up the Avengers assemble including Black Panther, Okoye, and Shuri; Falcon, Dr. Strange, and Wong; Spider-Man, Valkyrie, Wasp, Pepper, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain Marvel to reverse Thanos' actions and restore the balance in the universe. This is the battle to end all the battles.
Thanos has the four Infinity Stones at this point in the Avengers: Infinity War. It comes after Thanos killed a ship full of Asgardians, curb-stomped the Hulk, and killed Loki. But Iron Man, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy also try their hands against the purple guy. They make a series of coordinated attacks against Thanos to wrest the Gauntlet away from him. In this scene, the Avengers work in tandem and we get to witness just how powerful Thanos really is.
If you are looking for an MCU fight which is all about the spectacle, it will be the fight at the airport from Captain America: Civil War. This scene is full of quips and consists of our favorite characters fighting it out with each other. On one side you’ve got Captain America, Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Bucky. On the other side is Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, Spider-Man, War Machine, and Vision. The fight even gets more ridiculous as it goes on and starts wreaking havoc.
The fight between Captain America and Winter Soldier in the Captain America: Winter Soldier” is arguably said to be the best-choreographed fight of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this scene, the mysterious Winter Soldier puts two Avengers on the ropes and even fights in CQC with Captain America. The scene ends with the Winter Soldier getting unmasked and Steve Rogers finding out he is his friend Bucky Barnes.
T'Challa cannot beat Killmonger in this fight, wherein he saw his mentor Zuri killed in front of him. Zuri's death breaks T'Challa's discipline and with that, we see a crack in his usual calm and cool demeanor. This scene is the real turning point in Black Panther, which sets up the later conflict between T'Challa and Killmonger.
Nebula and Gamora have not been in good terms since their childhood. We saw them going at it in "Guardians of the Galaxy,” but their fight in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is more intense. It is a knock-down, drag-em out fight as Nebula streaks out of the sky in a ship to clash with Gamora. Nebula gets the upper hand but she can't bring herself to kill Gamora. Then she says a line that changes their relationship.
The Avengers is definitely one of the best MCU films because through this we finally get to see our favorite heroes come together. However, the team is not yet ready to work together. Especially when its two most hotheaded members Thor and Iron Man meet up in a forest to fight each other. Here, we learn that Thor's lightning can help power Tony's suit. Thankfully, Captain America comes down to stop their fight.
This scene in “Captain America: Civil War” is a rare occurrence in which none of the heroes are prepared for a fight. The battle breaks out without a warning, and with that, we get to see the heroes armed with little but their training and wits. Everyone tries to make an attempt at the Winter Soldier but he keeps control of them. This results in Captain America to bring down a helicopter with just all his bulging biceps.
When it comes to the Hulk, it would always be game over for whoever he is up against with. That is why when Thanos was able to knock him to the floor in just under a minute. This is the first time we have seen the Hulk lose a fight and it happens in the first few minutes of "Avengers: Infinity Wars." What makes this loss a gut-punching shock is Thanos was able to take out the Avengers' biggest gun.
Are you wondering why this scene from "Doctor Strange" is on the list even if it is not really a fight scene? Well, because it is a battle of wills, where Dr. Strange emerges victorious after he was able to create a time loop with the Time Stone. Essentially, this results in annoying Dormammu into letting the Earth go free.
