"This is a story social injustices in 1950's Philippines. It does tell a story does contain other topics as well. It is a good story, but I had a hard time understanding and had to re-read some sections. It is definitely a slow read. If you have time and patience to read, then this book is for you. "

"I have never heard of this books, so I cannot attest how great of a solution this was. The Solution does take me to an amazon page with seemingly good and authentic reviews. It might be worth a shot, but I'm not certain this is the best."

"Recently a friend of mine lent me Ilustrado and begged me to read it. I'm not normally into mystery/fiction books but I have to say that the Filipino history that was included made it very interesting to me. I think it's the best English Filipino book I have ever read."
