"this is one of the best fire emblem games out there, even for newcomers. no ties to previous stories, yet it borrows elements from previous games and mixes it really well. also made me cry since, like most FE games, it stresses the "perma-death" mechanic the series is known for, all while really making you legitimately care for each charactter in the game! seriously, I WANT TO PROTECT EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU~!"

"one would think that splitting a game into three versions was just a cashgrab by nintendo. okay, maybe it kinda is, but seriously, with so much content per game, THIS WAS A WELL DONE CASHGRAB. i picked up birthright since they said it was one of the best fire emblem games to start with when it first came out, and after finishing all three versions, i'm glad i picked this up first. also, SAKURA BEST GIRL"

"i love how video games can tackle important issues in a way that sometimes film and tv can't. path of radiance is one of them. i won't go into spoilers but the way it builds up the character and his tolerance for racism is very well done, and the best part is that it still requires some involvement from teh player to trigger it. gamecubes are mostly dead by now but if you have an emulator, this is definitely one of the best fire emblem games to emulate."

"i have a gacha problem, and by that i mean i love gacha games too much to the point of wanting to play all of them, and heroes is one of the ones that i frequently play. i wasnt a fan of FE but i played this since it was a gacha game. next thing you know, i've gotten to emulating a few FE games simply because i wanted to know more about my husbando's story in actual canon. if you're not sure where to start in the FE franchise, heroes can help."

"it's hard to really rank the three versions of fates next to each other since it's a matter of preference in the end. conquest has its good points, even if it is difficult compared to birthright. i chose this because i appreciated the challenge but also because i would naturally go with nurture over nature. i am a bit disappointed in how the western release was done (which is another can of worms entirely) but the game was still ok for the most part."

"this game, unlike later releases, is not a game that has the same story for two different genders. alm and celica are not only two different characters but also experience two different storylines, so wanting to know the whole plot reqires more than one playthrough. i highly recommend this especially. hardcore fans will love it since it's a gaiden remake, and newbies will appreciate the phoenix mode."
