This game was the next major game to be released by id Software after the success of Doom. Quake brings a more Gothic flavor to the FPS genre and, like its predecessor, has spawned copycats and sequels over the years.

"Gamers will have to well versed in DOS games. In addition you'll have to make sure everyone's system is able to handle whatever software you need to download. Gaming computers are a must. People will have to be expert enough to figure out how to download software. Not sure this is the best gaming party game unless you're all together or same expert level."

"This is a fun classic game. There are 58 different missions so you won't get bored. Your goal is to save colonies from being destroyed and there are strategic decisions to make that challenge your mind. It's better to play by yourself than at a party though. It's less of a group game."

"Dota's pretty good for teaming up if you're into that, but out of all the LAN options this is not one I'd put at the top. It's fairly forgettable and as this one is the second, it's not really an improvement on the first either."

"OpenTTD is really not that all that exciting unless you really like tycoon type games. Yeah, it is free, but you won't see me sitting around this weekend playing this game. I have much more exciting games I would rather play in my free time. So unless you are into tycoon games, this game probably isn't for you. Also, I don't think that this is even a LAN type game."

"The quality of this game definitely reflects its price. You get what you pay for- in this case, nothing! It’s a generic shooter game without many bells and whistles. It’s probably most suitable for kids; adults would find it incredibly mundane. There isn’t much variety in terms of levels offered, so I’d recommend looking for other games with a bit more quality."
