"I really loved this book, maybe more than any other book about a dog that I've ever read. Henry gets into so much trouble! Okay, so Henry drives his owners up a wall, but they love him all the same. This dog seems to have run of the house, and he just can't help but find means for mischief. A puppy can be lots of fun, and this book really lets that shine through."

"Having read some other dog humor book, my family thought this would be a good gift for me. It is a cute read, but not to the point of being achingly funny. Why I buy it for myself? Probably, not, but if you don't know what else to get the dog-lover in your life, this might be it."

"Love at First Bark was a wonderful read. Julie Klam takes you into her life of rescuing dogs from shelters. I thought this book would be lighthearted and funny, but I was taken aback by the serious nature of a lot of the stories. Don't get me wrong there were some funny parts of the book, but they were almost overrun by the serious stories of her adventures in dog rescuing. This book really inspired me to visit my own animal shelter and see what I could do the ensure the animals (dogs and cats) are happy and hopefully find them forever homes."

"Karen Davison's decision to include Bob the Westie as co-author of her book "A Dog's Guide to Cats" may seem like a gimmick when you first approach this book. I came to believe after reading the book, however, that it was in fact Bob the Westie's contribution which made this book so warm and charming. How else could the author(s) have come up with such an empathetic view of the dog-cat relationship from bowser's point-of-view? This book is not laugh-out-loud funny but captures a warmer, deeper humor known by every species diverse pet owner that is all too rarely acknowledged and savored. "

"My grandpa's cognitive awareness is not what it used to be, so we've been trying to get him back into reading (his old favorite passtime). To this end, Mike&Scrabble provided him with something easy to read but endearingly funny, chock full of the kinds of things any dog lover can relate to. Overall, a fun little book for anyone who'd like that sort of thing. (I admit, I'm not a dog person but even I got a chuckle out of it.)"

"Bad to the Bone is a great choice read for anyone who loves pets and dogs. It’s heartfelt story and strong humor take it past just being a book for dog lovers though, as it’s a painfully honest book filled with real life themes. Even though it touches on heavy themes it’s still a light read overall so all ages can enjoy as well."

"Classic story and beautiful breeds. Wish I'd thought of this! (Though I must say the phrasing of this suggestion leaves something to be desired; "illustrations written be Oscar Wilde"?) While I live it, I can't really score it that high as "humor," though."
