DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know out of all the Game of Thrones episodes its season 7 finale was the most-watched episode? The episode entitled “The Dragon and the Wolf” has broken its viewership records with 12.1 million viewers tuned in for the live broadcast. This is a 13% increase over those who watched the "Eastwatch" episode, which was the previous record-holder. But if you include the number of views on the HBO Go and its standalone HBO Now app, it will become 16.5 million of viewers. This is impressive considering two episodes of the GoT season 7 were leaked online. By the way, “The Dragon and the Wolf” episode did not leak, which could be an explanation for its huge success. But then again, although “The Spoils of War” and “Beyond the Wall” episodes leaked, it didn't have any impact on its ratings.

To put things into perspective, the 12.1 million viewers don't just make the Game of Thrones season 7 finale the most watched episode of the series. It also broke records on other networks internationally, putting it ahead of the AMC show The Walking Dead. The eight and final season of Game of Thrones is set to have six episodes, which will premiere on April 14, 2019. It took two years for the production for the final season. So there is no doubt this will continue to break viewership records.

"If you hate spoilers, you better stop reading now. This is the first face-off between Dany and Cercei's force and I don't even know which side I'm on anymore. I don't want a dragon to die but I also refuse to see Bronn and Jaime get burned to death. I also felt Tyrion on this one, he still cares and he doesn't want his countrymen to die. Is it just me or Daenerys is starting to be annoying?"

"This showdown and the end result still haunts me in my sleep 😂 It's obvious that violence and gruesome deaths are the key ingredients of Game of Thrones but this is too heartbreaking. Oberyn was actually a pretty decent man (compared to other characters) and he didn't deserve what happened to him 😢 AWESOME EPISODE THOUGH."

"All the key characters are doing something big and you'll definitely feel that everything's coming together now and all of them will be facing each other soon. It's sad to see some of my favorite characters go in this episode but I guess they won't be playing an important role for the last 2 seasons. Indeed, one of the most important season finale with cliffhangers that everyone looks forward to "
