"This book was a little slow to start and I had a hard time relating with the characters. It felt like another attempt at a gay man struggling with his identity and I just think that there are books that tell that story better. I'm glad I didn't put the book down because the second half of the book picked up and I had a newfound appreciation for Matthew's struggle. I won't provide spoilers, but give this book a shot!"

"This novel was very boring. It felt like I was reading a script from the Bad Girls Club."

"This is a straight romance between an English woman Gillian and a Scottish man. The romance and intrigue is great but not much of what I would classify as a gay book and doesn't feature sailor characters."

"Whoa, swashbuckling gay pirates are amazing in this book. They do things ordinary men can't, and won't! Try it, you'll like it. Being completely heterosexual myself I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book and kept re-reading certain parts of it."

"Raised by Wolves is just okay in my opinion. It was highly recommended to me by a friend, but I just didn't care for the topic or the story. I did make it through the book, but I doubt that I would ever read it again. I do know (because of my friend) that some people love this book though. I guess it just depends on your taste."

"It is a gay book, so we've got that much! I haven't read it personally, but I don't see any mentions of sailing or boats, so that might be a relatively minor thing if it's in this book at all. Also, I've heard that there is a student/teacher relationship in this book, which I personally really dislike and find to be horrid representation for the LGBT community. "
