"If you look past the awkward narrative style of this book, you will find a wonderful and thought-invoking book about young love. I was more interested in the reading the main characters' stories, but I did muscle through the other storylines for completion's sake. It really left me teary-eyed and I am glad to have read it!"

"The story is only okay. It follows the familiar "man being taken advantage of by a villainous woman and has to be rescued by the love of another man" plot-line. The protagonist is a serial killer, which may or may not be appropriate for young adults, depending on how you define the term. Despite being a murderer, he has the usual tropes that make a protagonist likable. On the other hand the villain, his female friend, is just a caricature. An evil woman with no redeeming qualities like the wicked witch of a children's story. If you can get over the murderer protagonist, familiar theme, and boring villain then you have an entertaining romance. But that was all I got from it."

"This novel can serve as an awful reminder of the troubles young LBGT - and even older LBGT - individuals go through finding and understanding themselves. For those among the LBGT crowd, this novel can help you embrace who you truly are. And for those not among the LBGT crowd, this can help you paint a good picture as to what they face."

"The concept is great. A historical look at two gay men. But the author has attempted much too much in this one book. She has a fine grasp on the historical setting but sometimes gets lost in it. Still, you got to give her credit for the attempt, but you don't have to read it."

"How does this kind of book get written? The writing level is below high-school; the fantasy portion of the plot is trite and lacking any originality whatsoever, the sex scenes are written with all the artfulness and subtlety of a gay men's mag letters column. A binge of homosex and gore. No merit whatsoever."

" was lucky enough to meet the author at a recent real-life get together of an online group, so when All Bets Are Off showed up as a review copy on Netgalley and since I had never read anything by this author, I jumped at the chance to read something by her. One of my favorite tropes in books is the forbidden student/teacher relationship, but they are so often hard to find in a way that seems believable. That is one of the things that I loved about All Bets Were Off, the trying to avoid the relationship and the building of sexual tension through-out rather than a quick fling. The bantering between Ash and Eli was probably one of my favorite parts of the book, especially since they supported different sports teams. It made it seem more real than many relationships in books that just seem forced. The relationship between Ash and his Marine buddies was the other part of the story that I enjoyed - you could tell that the author had really done her research. Being in the military, I am very picky about how the military is portrayed, and I felt that the author did the relationships justice."

"Unicorn tracks is an out there book that follows the story of two young girls who try to save the unicorns, while at the same time try to hold back on their gay love for one another. The book tries to keep audiences involved by the writing is dull and dry. It is somewhat of a cliche "gay novel" and one would do better looking elsewhere for a story about gay romance for young adults."
