"Book 1 of 6 in a series, so obviously there's some compelling characters here. It's a new day when there's so much gay literature, and I hope it helps people feel more accepted."

""Xavier (Gillham Pack)" is one book of several in the series by this author. I highly suggest reading "Whitedale Pride" which is a prequel and helps to illuminate details about the characters. The main issue I have with this book, and overall with the plot lines in general, is that some of the characters do not react in a common way to situations. For instance, if someone betrays another, one might expect some anger expressed towards the betrayal. That reaction is not present, which bothers me a great deal. I have heard this from another friend who felt the same way. It leaves you feeling alone in your feelings as you read the book. I do not know why there are such gaps in the story where it involves soul mates. It is a missed opportunity to delve into character depth."

"Axel's Pup of the Werewolves & Dragons series is one of the single best books representing homosexual beings. The book has a decent amount of paranormal characters with truly human-like conflicts and desires. I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to continuing on in the saga."

"I'm not sure how to categorize this story, other than it's a bit odd but entertaining. It's not necessarily my style, but if you're into this kind of thing, it is well written and engaging."

"The best gay shifters book series is The Mark of an Alpha (Pack Discipline) by Kim Dare. Dominance and submission mean different things to werewolves than to humans. Once Marsdon and Bennett try things the human way – nothing can ever be the same for them again. Werewolf tradition is very clear. The alpha pair is the corner stone of the pack. Equality between the alphas is everything. Alphas mate with alphas."

"I do not care for the plot of this story. There are just too many elements going on here to keep track of in the story. It just seem like there is a lot going on so that you can't really enjoy the main theme of the story, which is romance. "

"I love that this book has both gay main characters and a paranormal story line. The main character deals with derogatory comments and slurs, but not because of his homosexuality. He is a shifter and that ends up being the reason for contention. The book is a good shift away from the usual gay drama while still showing how bigotry effects people in the world. "

"I couldn't get into this book at all. I have read some novels with werewolves that I liked, but the extra powers that these shifters have really took me out of it. At times it was cheesy when the author was trying to be serious. "
