"My boyfriend loves Gonzo books and I wanted to surprise him with one he hasn't read yet. I came across Magic America and he loved it! It's a really cool coming of age story but set in an alternate universe and that it's really fun and intriguing. I have been reading it too and I love it. Definitely buy this book!"

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson is a cult classic of gonzo journalism. It chronicles a drug-soaked, addle-brained, rollicking good times of a road trip that went down in the annals of American pop culture.

"I've often heard about this book but had never read it or watched the movie, so I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I wasn't sure it would be something that I would like. Now I'm just mad that it took me so long to read it. "

"I did not enjoy this book. I found the concepts difficult to grasp and many of them felt too far-fetched for me to understand fully. Even though books of this genre are meant to be bizarre or crazy, this one was too far out there for me to accept. "

"This was a surprisingly good read. Usually, I don't enjoy book from this genre but Nobody Special: The Death of Johnny Salinger by Jack Deadmen artfully crafts this story to be wildly introspective, articulate and emotion-packed. It's original and very entertaining."
