"A very good horror book in my opinion. When it comes to novels I think it's very hard to get into a horror themed book because at the supposedly scary parts I just roll my eyes. Books of Blood however is a real page turner and really deserves a read. My only complain is that it's rather short, but all good books have this problem."

"This is a great read. It's so well written and easy to absorb. The story of this heart-wrenching murders is fascinating, disturbing, and mesmerizing. The story has been written in a way to walk the reader through 100's of people and yet always is able to bring you straight back to the main characters that unfortunately made this book possible. The sheer weight of evidence eventually brought together against Manson and his family is presented here in largely chronological order, and shows just how completely Bugliosi throws himself into his work. There is a good reason why Helter Skelter is considered one of the best true crime books written "

"One of the most unsettling and gruesome books I have ever read, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is definitely among the best gory novels out there. McCarthy masterfully creates deeply uncomfortable scenes while maintaining a beautifully rich writing style. Adding on to all of that is the fact it is based in part on the real life exploits of the gang described in it. If you are looking for a gore novel, you can't get much better than Blood Meridian."

"Hide and Seek by Ketchum is one of the better gore novels to be released in the past few years. The characters are realistic and you wind up rooting for them to make it. The setting comes alive with Ketchum's writing, and what could've been a tired trope is very entertainingly told."
