What are the best Grammy performances of all time?

The Grammys have been the most compelling event of awards season. For 60 years, we've watched the Grammys year after year thinking, "Wow! This is the best Grammy performance ever!" And year after year they manage to raise the bar even higher than before. They've got emotional power ballads that would bring any person to their knees. They've done once-in-a-lifetime mashup performances. Not to mention, every performance feels like a goosebump-inducing hit that just blows through the roof. A lot has changed since the beginning of this music awards show. Back then, the best and the brightest in the music industry just gathered in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton in 1959. Nowadays, the show is done in huge arenas and is watched by millions across the world. Not only that, but it's also changed up its catalog with more categories for awards and even more dazzling performances. Fans will probably remember when Michael Jackson moon-walked past a choir in a 10-minute medley of his greatest hits in 1988. Even the most unlikely pairing of Elton John and Eminem gave the performance of a lifetime in 2001. What about the Grammy performance Lady Gaga gave in 2011, now that was a treat! Of course, who can forget Adele's Grammy performance "Hello?" The point we're trying to make is that there are so many awesome performances throughout the years. It's almost hard to keep track of them all. So we've come up with a list of what we think are the best performances. Check 'em out right here!

The 2011 Grammys featured a Lady Gaga performance that was unlike any other. She arrived on the red carpet in an incubating vessel before "hatching" out to perform her No. 1 single "Born This Way." This demonstrates her passion as an artist.

  2. 3"Love Drought" and "Sandcastles," Beyonce (2017)

In 2017, Beyonce performed a nine-minute visual spectacle at the Grammys. What made her performance even more impressive was the fact that she was pregnant with twins. She performed two of her hit singles, "Love Drought" and "Sandcastles."

  1. 4"Hello," Adele (2017)

One of the most anticipated performances during the 2017 Grammys belonged to Adele. She opened the show with her hit single "Hello" that spent 10 weeks in the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. On the same night, she took home five awards.

  2. 5"Finesse," Bruno Mars (2018)

The 2018 Grammys featured Bruno Mars and Cardi B performing the remixed version of Bruno's "Finesse." This was after the hit single had just dropped. Their performance included colorful '80s-inspired wardrobes and cool dance choreography.
