"What I like about this series of courses is he really understands what one's abilities and needs are. The beginning series is careful to get the player up and running without making the newbie feel dumb, and the more advance courses go in-depth, but not to an inaccessible degree. The site also features a number of free tips and services, everything from notes on proper gear to how to practice most effectively. "

"If you want to play the blues, this book will get you started. If you only get halfway through, you'll still be able to play the blues. This is a rhythm book, but without the rhythm you've got nothing on the blues. A good foundation of blues rhythm will help you with your soloing as well. The book is really easy to understand and I felt like I had my own personal instructor the entire time I was working with it. No blues book that I've worked with comes even close to this one."

"This book instructs through the use of short example licks from famous licks. There is a diverse set of licks to inspire creative playing. The book also demonstrates the use of the blues scales and turn arounds, and that is just the first quarter or so of the book. It is a valuable resource to pull from to learn some blues. The only drawback I would site is that it is not as cohesive from one section to the next, I believe because it is a compiled set of magazine articles."
