  1. 1Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

    57

If it wasn't for the success of the first film, then the following films wouldn't have made much of an impact. A lot was riding on this initial film and it did not disappoint. The Philosopher's Stone captures almost as much magic as the novel. Plus, Warner Bros. did amazing with almost the entire cast!

  1. 2Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

    41

All the action and climax of the whole series were saved for this very film. The Deathly Hallows Part 2 offers a deep affectionate story as well as a powerful finale. With the somewhat drawn out the first part, the second part has all the action and a chilling ending that you could ask for!

  2. 3Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

    39

After the slightly childish tone of the first two films, things made a much darker turn in the Prisoner of Azkaban. The kids started to grow up and the film has this creepy aesthetic to it with a more immersive atmosphere. It definitely brought the magic of the Harry Potter series to life and made it much more realistic.

  1. 4Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1

    37

Part 1 of the final film had a lot of intricate parts that were imperative for the climax of the story. The only problem was it felt a little drawn out and wasn't as straightforward as the rest. Still, it's a beautiful part of a whole and it has its moments.

  2. 5Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

    36

If the first film was the introduction, the second film is where the action gets going. It features events like meeting Dobby, destroying the first Horcrux, and discovering Harry can speak parseltongue. It's a pretty memorable film given that it's the longest one in the franchise. Still, a lot of awesome things happened in the Chamber of Secrets.

  3. 6Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

    30

If competitive sports is your strong suit then you could already tell that you're gonna like Goblet of Fire. This was probably the first film in the series to hype up the intensity and make the film PG-13. It's darker and gives us a chance to see other Wizards outside of Hogwarts.

  4. 7Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

    28

Compared to Goblet of Fire which had the right mix between the heart of the early books and the darkness of the second half, this one was the full-on dark mode. Order of the Phoenix showed us more Death Eaters and goth wizards than what we were used to in the previous films.

  5. 8Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

    26

This film's highlight is none other than Snape and his misunderstood identity. Underneath the image of a tortured and lovesick potions master, you had a hero just laying in wait. His full redemption isn't unveiled until the final entry in the series, fans are treated to the spectacle of Alan Rickman as Severus.

"Woohoo!! That was GOOD! I totally enjoyed the movie, and actually feel exhilarated and all sorts of happy and confounded at the same time. So much action, so much plot twists, so much darkness and really disgusting evil. The whole thing flows beautifully - those people know how to write a movie script from a novel, that's for sure. And the cinematography is one of the best of all the Harry Potter movies. Harry and his friends are getting better as they age, and the story gets into its groove to a higher level than before, which is something to say. I hope there will be more to come although we are being told it could be the last one - after such a thrilling ride, I can't believe they'll abandon us. Please!"

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is one of the best Harry Potter movies. My wife and I are bingeing on the Harry Potter movie series. We've thoroughly enjoyed everything we've seen and have only one more film to watch. Note that we're both "senior citizens," but that hasn't stopped us from enjoying this "YA" series. Highly recommended."

"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second movie in the series, and it is excellent. It tells of Harry's second year at the mystical school of Hogwarts and his encounter with the feared Voldemort and his cohorts. A fantastic movie, great acting and cast, and awesome visuals."

"For me this sould be clearly #1. Its the smartest, best directed movie in the Harry Potter series. This movie loses the "too-childish" feel of the first 2 movies, while at the same time not falling into the "taking itself way too seriously" catgory of later movies."

"I thought it was a good if drawn out film. The lighting was off at times and Radcliffe was a little inconsistent in his acting throughout. The ending was quite dark compared to the novel however."
