What are the best haunted house movies?

Ghosts, poltergeists, and things that go bump in the night:  Haunted house movies have been a staple of horror cinema ever since the silver screen was born. From classic gothic horror movies such as House on Haunted Hill, to modern psychological thrillers like Berlin Syndrome, haunted house movies have always been there to scare and delight us.  What is your favorite?

    "Found out about this after i found a book of this on my father's office got intrigued so i read it and got hooked. After that i watched this 1979 film which has fascinated me. I've watched it so many times but i never get tired of it. I even watched the r2015 remake but i think the original film is better."

    "Poltergeist might be an old movie but i believe that this should be on the top horror movies about haunted house. Yeah this is pretty tame compared to other haunted house movies out there but i liked it. And i still think this is better than its 2015 remake."

    "Wasn't able to watch Insidious went it was out on movie theatres. The first time i watched this was when i was browsing the best haunted house movies on Netflix and found this. Def recommending this to paranormal movies fans out there."

    "I remember the first time i watched The Shining was during my film class and i didn't have any idea what this is about but i had to sit and watch it. TBH i dont see this as one of the best ghost horror movies. It isn't that scary to me"

    "i dunnot about you but i dont think Crimson Peak is a horror movie for me this is a gothic film. why? well because the point of this movie is not to scare its audience but to provoke and unsettle them."

    "Uhmm. not really a movie set in haunted houses but it is more in a village. Anyway, overall i like the story of this film (aside from the fact that Daniel Radcliffe is the protagonist here LOL)"
