"The Power of a Praying Woman helps explore the idea that prayer is not just a personal thing, that it helps everyone even those who don't believe. It's a highly recommended read and I think a lot of bible study groups could use it as a backdrop for a study."

"I would describe this book as a soul searching book. Stormie allows a woman to look on the inside of herself to see just where she is in the flesh and build a strong relationship through prayer, asking God to allow her to see where God wants her to be in the spirit. The book has been a blessing, I am using this book as the focus for our Women's Ministry."

"THis was pretty lame. The writing leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure why it would be listed as being for new Christians."

"I am not a religious person and don't really condone religious beliefs, but the rest of my family is. This past Christmas, I bought my father the ESV Study Bible. I thought it would be a nice gesture for him since he reads his bible daily. I feel like he really likes it because he always has it with him. When I go to his house, it is always on the side table beside the couch where he always sits. I think it was probably a good gift, but I can't tell you how good it is because I don't read or study the bible. Based on other reviews and his usage, I would have to say it is a very good companion."

"Does the book, Knowing God, by James I. Packer, deserve the status it has received as being a "classic"?Absolutely!!! You will not for a moment regret reading Packer's reflections on the attributes of God, the work of Christ on the Cross, and the living of the Christian life. Though I have a few quibbles about Packer's criticism of the use of icons and images in worship, his digs at Keswick consecration and surrender teaching, and his skepticism over the Charismatic reliance on hearing God. My concerns are minor compared to the great worth of Packer's thoughts on God in his greatness, the Son in his finished work, and the Holy Spirit in his enabling power. Be ready to grow spiritually as Packer walks you into a deeper and more profound understanding of God's Word. *Knowing God* is a wonderfully written book about God himself-- someone we need to know personally and intimately. I can't believe that it took me twenty-five years to finally take the time to read it."
