"This book comes highly recommended and has what I think is a very strong quality - the "kids" are not portrayed as 1st graders! I would let an older kid read this book - but because of the subjects and language I would be having some conversations about it. So for me it's not a book I would just hand over. You may want to even read it yourself so that you are kind of treating it like a book club."

"I bought this one for my teenage daughter and I believe she enjoyed it. She was stuck in her room all day reading it. I guess it's better than her going out and me wondering where she went to."

"This book is a cult classic for a reason! This is a book everyone can relate to, regardless of your age or experience. It is written as a series of letters to a friend, so the style is a little different, but it lets us into Charlie's deepest thoughts and feelings so that we can feel what he's feeling from his perspective. This book will definitely remind you of high school if you are older, and if you're in the thick of it now I'm sure you will relate. Definitely check out this easy and fun read, for something enjoyable and memorable. "

"I find it difficult to justify the story between Dominic and Bronagh. While love must be fought for, there is an extent that must never be crossed. I believe that this may push for the wrong ideas. The matter that this constitutes a romance novel could only be justified by the difficulties of maintaining or even just starting lasting relationships. "

"Obsidian (Book 1 of the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout) is a different, but very entertaining type of high school romance novel. I had never read and alien romance novel before, but truly enjoyed this one. The characters are very well drawn out and Katy is likable as is Daemon. I couldn't put this down."

"This is one of Keplinger's most underrated works. The DUFF walks through the life of a young adult and had me remembering the bad decisions that I made in my early life. The cynical main character quickly comes to realize her true place among her classmates and is driven into an identity crisis."

"My daughter is 15 and just entered high school. She's experiencing things like her first crush and so I gave this book to her as a gift. She found the romance very moving and the high school scenes very relatable. I can't know how the book relates to others in the high school romance genre, but my reader in the house rates it highly!"
