"This may be a great book about the Crusades, but judging by the mixed Amazon reviews and the fact that it's historical fiction, surely there would be a better book that would do a better job teaching about the factual historical events of the Crusades. I do not think I would consider it the best novel out there on this topic."

"This could very well be the best novel about the Crusades. It features real life history mixed with some speculation as to how the Templars were destroyed. The way the Templars are written is great because they aren't saints, but still are good men."

"The Fall of the Templars is the 'go to' book if one wants to read up more on the Crusades. Fall of the Templars is the first book in a trilogy, so get ready to immerse yourself in some reading. Character development is intensive, but the book flows effortlessly once the story really starts moving."

"My friend recommended The Holy Lance to me, knowing that I'm a history buff and particularly about the Crusades. Andrew A. Latham wowed me with this work, as I was captivated throughout the book and struck by the incredible amount of research that went into the book. Entertaining as much as informative, if this isn't the best historical novel about the Crusades, I don't know what is!"

"I have recently been thinking about my religion and faith. I came across this book at my church's charity book sale. While it is a fictional book it is obviously based on real historical events. This is a very interesting book about the Crusades that got me thinking about life and my faith. I would highly recommend. "
