"This was part of a book club read. I didn't care much for the way the characters are written. The story didn't seem realistic at all."

"Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. very good book. I had not read this author before so it was a nice surprise to find another good author to put on my "read" list. excellent textbook with a great deal of interesting information. It was fun to read about Simon and Daphne finding each other through angry brothers, duels, crazy marriage mind mamas and a few misunderstandings along the way. The banter between the was laugh out loud funny as were some of the arguments . I really adore Daphne family, her brothers were a hoot but her Mom was the best, bringing all her sons to order with a few choice words or a yank of a ear. And a cute running mystery of who the infamous Ms. Whistledown truly is. Overall: a great and fun read with a lots of laughs and a lot of love! ★★★★★"

"I've been doing research on literature that features arranged marriages. I read Annie's Song, by Catherine Anderson, and found the story to be beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure. I might describe the relationship between Alex and Annie to be more of a marriage of convenience than an arranged marriage, but these subgenres have some overlap and I would still call this book to be one of the better-written examples of the style."

"What a bad book! The characters are young, dumb, and flighty and none of their decisions are rooted in any kind of common sense. I found myself continuously rolling my eyes at them. Maybe better for a younger audience. It does not stand up to the other great historical fiction tales available."

"This does a fairly good job as a solution because it is a historical romance novel, though the synopsis doesn't specify whether it is an arranged marriage or not. It's similar enough that it could be considered as such. "
