"Diana Gabaldon paints a vivid picture with Outlander, the first book in her historical romance series. Gabaldon's use of language and emotions are superb here, bringing more depth and weight than most other books of this genre. Overall, this is a terrific example of a historical romance with angst."

"Now this is an epic story telling at it's best! This was one exciting, dramatic journey through time. I loved the tension that the author creates between Jamie and his best friend who married his wife! This would make for a great book-to-film, i would certainly be there on opening-night."

"This is an interesting story about a girl who has to decide between doing what is expected of her and what feels right. I could relate to a lot of the story. being a female who has also had to make decisions that didn't always make my family happy. I recommend this book if you are looking for some entertaining and thought provoking reading. "

"This book really let me delve into the anxiety and dread that I was hoping it would have. This isn't a typical romance novel in that it isn't a straight forward love story. There are complications that arise and I really felt awash in the conflicted feelings that Jamie experiences. Ultimately it makes the romantic portions of the book that much sweeter."

"I usually dislike romance novels but A Kingdom of Dreams (Westmoreland Saga) is an exception. This story had me laughing at times and crying at others. Judith McNaught is an excellent writer and this book seemed to give a great insight into the 15th Century."
